Company Description

Alaska Glacial Mud Co. makes a line of glacier-derived natural skin care and spa products.

Alaska Glacial Mud Co. recognizes a deep connection between our lives and the earth’s natural resources. They give 10% of their profits to projects supporting wilderness preservation, habitat restoration, sustainable community development, and environmental education programs. Furthermore, as a B Corp, Alaska Glacial Mud Co. uses eco-friendly production methods: they harvest the soil by hand and are careful never to take too much. They use hydropower to process the raw materials. All of their ingredients are biodegradable, and every product is cruelty-free as well as free of synthetic fragrances, dyes, parabens, and sulfates. Each product is made in small batches, and the packaging is recyclable and made from post-consumer materials.

The mud is harvested from the vast Copper River Delta, where glaciers have spent thousands of years grinding down remote mountains into pure, mineral-rich powder. Certified as a Made in Alaska (MIA) product, Alaska Glacial Mud Co. hopes that by promoting natural beauty with a luxury product, they can harness the power of commerce and social impact to preserve Alaska’s wild ecosystems. Everything got started after founder Lauren Padawer had an inspiring dream about the potential impact of creating an amazing natural project that could simultaneously protect our natural resources.
