Company Description

aTana makes a line of durable bags and accessories designed for urban and outdoor adventurers.

As a 1% For The Planet member, aTana donates a portion of their revenue to organizations like the Plastic Pollution Coalition to restore and protect our waterways from plastic waste. The canvas they use is made with 100% GOTS certified cotton and the polyester linings in their bags are made from entirely recycled materials, just like the un-dyed wool in their blankets. Even their zippers are made partially from recycled materials. The company also states that the materials that go into their products are sustainably sourced, and they only partner with companies committed to fair wages and safe working conditions.

aTana was founded in 2017 by Angie and Todd Hakanson, a California couple who wanted low-impact bags and accessories that could keep up with them on all their varied activities, from hiking to music festivals and even to work. When they didn’t find any, they decided to create their own, resulting in a unique line for people on the go. With lifetime warranties, repair services, and a versatile look, aTana wants their products to stay with you for a long time, disrupting disposable consumer culture.
