Company Description

AUrate (pronounced ‘OR-ate’) is a jewelry company based in New York City.

AUrate notes on its website that all of its materials are ethically sourced: the company follows its supply chain closely, purchasing diamonds and pearls from conflict-free regions and complying with applicable United Nations resolutions. Additionally, for every piece of jewelry it sells, AUrate gives an economically underprivileged child a book through its “A Book for Your Look” initiative.

The company’s name, AUrate, combines the chemical symbol for gold with the concept of fair pricing (according to the website, it’s also meant to sound like “orate,” the verb for telling a story). Since its launch in 2015, AUrate jewelry has been seen on an array of celebrities including Olivia Munn, Charlize Theron, Megan Fox, Lena Dunham, and Heidi Klum. All AUrate jewelry is made in the company’s New York City workshop.
