Company Description

BGREEN makes underwear and clothing basics for men and women.

All of their products are manufactured in the United States at their family-owned factory — the first ever Fair Trade Certified apparel factory in the United States. The facility is exceptionally sustainable as well: They estimate that they use 40% less chemicals, 50% less electricity, 65% less water, and 30% less natural gas than traditional manufacturing. All told, their production process results in 50% lower emissions than standard models. BGREEN uses post-consumer textiles, certified organic cotton, and locally sourced Bluesign compliant dyes in all of their products. They’re also highly waste conscious, and recycle all of their fabric scraps, saving about 200,000 pounds a year from going to landfill. Plus, as a member of 1% For The Planet, a portion of their sales go to environmental non-profits.

Founder Mike Farid grew up on factory floors. In the 80’s, Mike’s father left the garment industry in Iran to bring his family to the United States, where he started a small knitting business that eventually grew into Nature USA, BGREEN’s manufacturing facility.
