Company Description

Elephant Gin makes award-winning, handcrafted, premium gin infused with rare African botanicals.

Elephant Gin is dedicated to maintaining the highest possible production standards. It doesn’t contain any artificial flavorings, and is made using hand-selected ingredients and locally sourced spring water. For every full size bottle sold, Elephant Gin donates 15% of profits to Big Life Foundation and Space for Elephants, both of which are devoted to African elephant conservation. Likewise, for every miniature bottle sold, they donate 15% of profits to The David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, an elephant orphanage near Nairobi. They’ve donated over 350,000 euros, and conduct regular visits with their partner foundations to track impact.

The founders, Tessa and Robin Gerlach, are firm believers that it’s this generation’s responsibility to protect African wildlife today, so it exists in the future. Combine that with a love of the “sundowner” drink (a South African evening cocktail tradition), and a company was born. Made with a unique blend of 14 botanicals — including Lion’s Tail, Devil’s Claw, African Wormwood, Cassia Bark, Buchu, Baobob and more — each batch is distilled in small batches and sealed in custom-made bottles with handwritten labels. The company has been honored with more than 16 awards and recognitions.
