Company Description

Kahina Giving Beauty makes luxury skin and body care products.

Kahina aims to deliver the highest quality natural skin care, while simultaneously providing economic independence to those who provide its raw materials. The key ingredient in their products is Argan oil, which the founder personally sources in partnership with small family farms and women’s cooperatives in Morocco. Kahina is passionate about traceability from tree to finished product, and shares the stories of the Berber women who extract the oil. Those women are paid fair wages, and Kahina donates a percentage of its revenue to programs that support them and their families. All of their products are made in the U.S. with natural, organic ingredients that are ethically and sustainably sourced. The exterior packaging is made from 100% recycled paper, while the bottles are made from recyclable violet glass, which helps to preserve the product inside.

Founder Katharine L’Heureux was raised to appreciate that excellent products come from quality ingredients. After an inspiring trip to Morocco, she set out to create a simple, effective, ethical, safe, and beautiful line of skin care products, with an eye toward cultural and environmental sustainability. Kahina was born, and with it a line of skin care containing not only Argan oil, but natural ingredients like prickly pear seed oil, rhassoul clay, green tea, blue tansy, rosemary, aloe vera, and more. Kahina has appeared in Vogue, ELLE, the New York Times, and other top publications, is ECOCERT and Leaping Bunny Certified, and won the 2018 Beauty Shortlist Award.
