Company Description

Lubanzi Wines is an American company selling South African wine.

The company donates 50% of their profits to the Pebbles Project, a non-profit that provides health and education resources to families that live and work on South African wine farms. In 2018, Lubanzi’s contributions have provided complete medical and dental care for 44 children, as well as supporting an Early Childhood Development center and an After School Club serving 49 children ages 3 months to 18 years.

While the company’s founders were in South Africa as exchange students, they went on a week-long backpacking trek on South Africa’s Wild Coast. A free-roaming dog, known to the locals as Lubanzi, followed them for 6 days and 100 miles of that trek. When they came back to South Africa two years later, they named their new company after their travel companion.
