Company Description

Method creates non-toxic, plant-based cleaning products for home, hands and body.

Method’s business is rooted in a commitment to empowering and helping its customers to create happy, healthy homes. The company uses five metrics – its B Corp and “Compass” scores, water usage, and carbon and waste footprints – to help improve human and environmental health. Method transparently reports its progress – and goals to improve – in its Benefit Blueprint. The company also provides a glossary of terms for customers on its website. On the production side, Method works closely with suppliers to track and improve water, energy, and materials efficiencies. Method is also animal-friendly: it is vegan, does not test any of its products on animals, and pledges to be safe around pets.

Method’s dedication to people, animals and planet began with its founders’ mission to make “green” cleaning products that were both appealing and effective for mass-market use. The result is a widely-celebrated company, recognized by PETA as a progressive business, and by Cradle to Cradle for its products’ sustainability levels. The company is also known for its firsts: it was the first to make a bottle with recovered ocean plastic, and was a founding B Corporation. It is now registered as a public benefit corporation.
