Company Description

Patagonia Provisions is Patagonia’s 100% organic food and agricultural arm, offering a variety of foods that address environmental issues and encourage the support of food producers.

The company is a member of 1% for the Planet and makes large-scale food donation efforts. For example, Provisions gave 10,000 meals to various food banks for Hurricane Harvey relief. It is also involved in various efforts to help restore bee populations, places emphasis on regenerative farming and supports suppliers who are working to instill change in the world and their industries.

Patagonia founder Yvon Chouinard launched Provisions in 2012 in an effort to lead by example after discovering how little seafood merchants knew about sustainable fishing. Chouinard launched a salmon fishery and Provisions began selling salmon jerky alongside Patagonia gear in April of 2012. The company has since expanded to sell a wide assortment of foods including cereals, soups, chilies, and beers. In 2016, Patagonia Provisions produced “Unbroken Ground,” a short film exploring regenerative agriculture, regenerative grazing, diversified crop development, and restorative fishing—four areas of agriculture that aim to change our relationship with the land and oceans.
