Vermont Creamery donates 1% of profits to support non-profit and community work. The company also uses local ingredients while supporting developing family farms with best management practices that are sustainable and environmentally sound. Its annual Mission Report reviewing sustainability efforts and key measure indicators and setting goals for the year to come is available on its website to promote transparency and accountability. According to the 2017 report, the company donated $36,000 and 1,283 pounds of cheese to local organizations last year, raised its starting wage for employees to $15, improved its B Score by three points, to 88.5, and created a volunteer partnership with Vermont Foodbank. Its 2018 goals include reducing water and energy use by 2% and pursuing LEED Design standards for its expanded creamery.

Vermont Creamery’s Coupole took First Place in the 2018 World Championship Cheese Contest. Cheeses from the creamery have won awards from Fancy Food Show, Good Food Awards, World Cheese Awards, American Cheese Society, and more.
