Caboo makes sustainable paper products out of bamboo and sugarcane.
27,000 trees are cut down every day to make toilet paper; each tree takes up to 30 years to replace. Caboo saw the need for a sustainable, 100% tree-free paper alternative made of bamboo and sugarcane, which are fast-growing grasses that can replace themselves in three months. All their products are ink-, dye- and fragrance-free, and produced with a focus on transparency — you can read all about the details of the production process on their website.
Caboo’s bamboo is carefully sourced from renewable, protected fields where the diet of local pandas won’t be threatened. Because bamboo and sugarcane are grasses, harvesting the plants doesn’t kill them, but rather stimulates their growth. Every stage of the production process is done with an eye to sustainability: at least 70% of the water they use for production is later recycled.
