Carnegie Fabrics manufactures interior textiles with their proprietary Xorel fabric.
Xorel fabric, invented in 1981, is a high-performance textile that excels in durability, safety, sustainability, air- and acoustic-quality. Carnegie Fabrics stands out in the wall coverings industry as the only supplier to have a PVC-free policy. Biobased Xorel, made from sugarcane, has more than two times the amount of organic content required by the USDA, and is rated Cradle to Cradle Gold. With carbon capture of 2.5 tons per ton of material produced, every 100 yards of Biobased Xorel used saves emissions equivalent of driving a car 580 miles.
Founded in 1950, Carnegie has a long-standing reputation in the textile field. And that reputation isn’t just professional, it’s personal too — company chairman Cliff Goldman is the son of founder Robert Goldman.
