Catbird is known for delicate gold stacking rings and other jewelry, made in its Brooklyn studio with recycled or fair-trade gold and stones from conflict-free sources.
The company donates a minimum of 1% of yearly sales to nonprofits including the ACLU, Planned Parenthood, and Doctors Without Borders. It also gives close to home, sponsoring the local Catbird Mets Little League team. As of late 2017, Catbird reports that it has donated more than $300,000 to organizations “aligned with our core beliefs of equality and helping others.”
Vogue magazine credits Catbird with popularizing the trend of ring stacking: “This Bedford Avenue storefront may be tiny,” the magazine observed, “but Catbird’s signature stacking and first knuckle rings are seen on tastemakers far and wide.”
