Crown Trails Headwear designs hiking headwear with national parks insignia.
Crown Trails Headwear makes hats and other accessories with a focus on supporting America’s National Scenic Trails — and, by extension, the nation’s National Parks, Monuments, Forests, and Wildernesses, as well as the communities that interact with all of those spaces. As a member of 1% For the Planet, they donate a minimum of 1% of their profits to environmental nonprofits. Their Give Back program donates a percentage of each sale to organizations dedicated to maintaining and protecting trails — it’s a core value of their company. Furthermore, 8% of the wholesale price of every hat sold is given back to a designated trail organization or licensed nonprofit.
In 1999, Founder Bob Wilson moved to Silver City, NM in pursuit of an outdoor lifestyle. With 20+ years of experience in headwear sales, he was inspired to launch Crown Trails Headwear after volunteering for a local effort designating Silver City as the first gateway community along the Continental Divide Trail. As an avid trail user and volunteer maintainer himself, he considers the business a “get up, stand up, take a hike” initiative — they promote trails, outdoor education, recreation, well being, and a Leave No Trace land ethic.
