Since 2005, Elvis and Kresse has made high-end men’s and women’s accessories, including bags, belts and wallets, from unlikely sources.
With a mission of reclamation and transformation, Elvis and Kresse upcycles their products from difficult-to-recycle materials such as fire hoses, parachute silk, coffee sacks, shoe boxes, auction banners and leather waste. In addition to using reclaimed materials, the company uses renewable energy to power their workshops and contributes 50% of profits from each collection to charities, such as the Fire Fighters Charity.
In a lecture at Central Saint Martins, co-founder Kresse Wesling discussed the luxury business: “If the whole process of producing luxury goods is wonderful and sustainable for absolutely everyone involved, then it is what it should be, a genuine celebration of the best that we can do.”
