"Every cup fills another."grosche.ca/
Grosche is a housewares company specializing in coffee, tea, and water products.
The founders envisioned a social enterprise that could change the world, which is why every product they sell funds their Safe Water Project (SWP). SWP provides people the means to sustainably purify their water, and education around issues of water safety and sanitation. To date, Grosche has funded over a million days of clean drinking water for people around the world. The company provides details of their efforts on their website, including an explanation of their unique biosand filters, photo albums, and an interactive impact map.
Outside of the SWP, Grosche takes careful steps to be an environmentally and socially conscious company. 91% of their waste is diverted from landfills with recycling and composting programs. 100% of the energy they use is green and renewable, and they’ve reduced their overall usage by 40%. Grosche has had a negative carbon footprint since 2010, has planted 10,000 trees in partnership with Trees for the Future, and even launched and ran a banana co-op plantation in South Sudan to help locals grow food and generate income. Within their community, the Grosche team packs food hampers, grows an organic food bank garden, cooks for those in need, and volunteers with Habitat for Humanity.
