Guayaki sells a line of yerba mate drinks and accessories.
The company’s mission is to steward and restore 200,000 acres of American Atlantic rainforest, and create over 1,000 living wage jobs. Every Guayaki purchase supports that mission, helping to regenerate ecosystems and build communities. Transparency is key: they source their ingredients from USDA certified organic suppliers, and create their Fair Trade products without the use of chemical pesticides, herbicides, or GMOs.
Guayaki was started in California in 1996 by two university buddies: Alex Pryor and David Karr. Alex, who was from Argentina, introduced David to yerba mate, and the rest was history: they set out to share the beverage with the world, as a nourishing source of energy. Visit their website to learn more about their partnerships with their farmers, the Participative Workshops they run support food sovereignty and language preservation, how they strive to foster local and global biodiversity, and more.
