Company Description

MADI Apparel offers women’s lingerie, including sleepwear and bridal intimates.

MADI is on a mission to end the urgent need for underwear globally. For each item sold, the company donates a pair of underwear to domestic violence shelters, disaster relief efforts, and hospital crisis centers. MADI has donated underwear in eight countries, and to 35 U.S. non-profit organizations. The company is also committed to sustainability, in addition to creating jobs in the U.S. To do it, MADI designs all products in-house, employs women in its home town of Kansas City, Missouri to cut and sew, and makes all products with bamboo and long-lasting lace, to cut down on waste.

MADI founder Hayley Besheer was inspired to start her company after learning that underwear is the most-needed and under-donated item of clothing in the U.S. That fact was made more personal for her when she discovered a family member was once the victim of domestic violence. Customer response has been strong: the company has reportedly seen a 25 percent increase in sales each quarter since 2014.
