"All the best things come in Pairs."paireyewear.com
Pair Eyewear sells customizable prescription and nonprescription glasses and sunglasses for children ages 6 and up.
With a mission to make wearing glasses “exciting, empowering, and playful for children,” and affordable for their parents, the company donates a pair of glasses to a child in need for every pair sold. They partner with Eyelliance to make the donations, which they say helps provide the single most effective health intervention (better eyesight) when it comes to improving academic performance among children.
Inspired by Warby Parker’s groundbreaking, try-at-home model, Pair Eyewear’s continually customizable glasses use snap-on frame tops, with the potential to build at least 50 different styles and colors. The idea is to allow children to express themselves and allow their glasses to transcend the role of medical device, to being a fashion accessory. As for how the try-at-home program works, Pair Eyewear offers cardboard versions of their glasses styles for children to try on at home – eliminating the need for parents to mail trial pairs back.
