“Less waste, one case at a time.”pelacase.com
Pela has developed an entirely new plant-based material that they use to create iPhone cases that are durable, sleek, colorful and most importantly: eco-friendly.
People go through iPhones on a sometimes-yearly basis, a cycle that results in toxic plastic cases being thrown out and replaced with alarming regularity. Pela is attempting to reduce this waste, both by protecting the phones themselves and using materials less harmful for the users and environment. Their cases are compostable, BPA-free, plastic-free, and are even shipped in a recycled envelope. They are also a member of 1% for the Planet and have incorporated a ‘Pay it Forward’ program that rewards referrals by donating $3 per sale to a charity.
Pela’s Canadian team describe themselves as nature-loving entrepreneurs, and view taking care of their environment as a responsibility to their families. Founder Jeremy Lang believes “our mission to make sustainable, eco-friendly products the new normal starts with a product that you hold everyday.”
